Building A Generation Proud of Their Language & Identity

We bridge the gap between heritage and the modern world, empowering Igbo children everywhere to embrace their roots with confidence and joy.

Our Story

As a mother raising children abroad, I began noticing something many diaspora families quietly struggle with Our Children may know they are Igbo, but are slowly losing the ability to confidently speak, express, and fully connect with their language, culture, and identity.

Not because parents do not care. But because many families lack a structured, simple, practical, and consistent support. That realization became the foundation for Umuoma Igbo Academy. What started as a personal passion with my children, has now grown into a global movement helping families preserve our language, confidence, culture, and identity for the next generation.

At Umuoma Igbo Academy, we believe children learn best when language becomes part of everyday life through real life conversation, storytelling, cultural immersion, fun learning, and guided support. This is more than teaching Igbo. This is helping children proudly know who they are.

Why Umuoma Was Created

We saw a generation losing their connection to their roots and decided to build a bridge back home through language and stories

Our goal is to make Igbo language and cultural learning practical, enjoyable, and accessible for children everywhere through immersive teaching and guided support systems.
